GoT and bad writing
May. 14th, 2019 09:50 amI'm no GRRM fan the writing in the final series of GoT, without his guiding hand, is getting very crude. You can really see the writers pulling levers to arrange things as they want them, and that's unforgivable.
Especially unforgivable in a series that's so godsdamned long and which in this final run has languished in long feature length episodes. Thus there's no excuse for strong-arming in changes you haven't earned in the narrative, when you've had so much time to foreshadow and build.
I think it's a sign of the TV writers being let off Martin's leash and are desperately grasping the tiller in artless thrusts.
It's one thing to make a series out of (IMO) overrated novels, but it's clear the TV series really needed their guidance. I'm glad the Kingkiller series is unlikely to come out before Rothfuss finishes his trilogy (fingers crossed, touch wood).
Arya is still awesome though :) #beststark
