Went to see Tool last night. Excellent gig, despite the awful venue: the Manchester **** Arena.

I do wish larger bands would play good venues for multiple nights instead of playing in that godawful place.

Still, a good gig and an excellent show.

Karen's last exam today, and I'm all packed up ready to go to Download, or as I think of it an extended Tool gig over three days! Just idling before I slog off to get the train to Derby. Not quite enough time to get into *reading* DW, but at least time for this post.

So this weeks chart looks a little skewed:

And yeah I did listen to lots of Tool this week :) but I listened to lots of recommendation radio and suchlike, so the fuller picture is more long and flat.

My last.fm weekly always make be look like a fad jumping obsessive, it's not true, honest!

So Tool were predictably fantastic.

The ice-hockey arena in Nottingham is perhaps not the most atmospheric place in the universe, and the support act (Masterdon) were AWFUL. None of that mattered. The music, the visuals, the stupidly obsene hologram-like use of laser clusters and mirrors... It was as mind blowing as a Tool gig should be :)
