Amazon should be delivering my holiday reads this morning (or else). I've gone with pretty safe choices this year:
Above the Snowline
The latest of Swainston's fourlands books. I've always enjoyed these, the anti-hero Jant is a brilliantly realised character despite his habit of collapsing into to drug fuelled dimension swapping relapses. This is set before any of the other books so I'm guessing Jant's misspent youth early immortality is on the menu.
Little Brother
Heard much about this book, and I like Cory Doctorow's short fiction. Can't imagine some contemporary-tech paranoia will do me any harm (although it may lead to further bitching from me about various privacy campaigns, we'll see :) ).
I'll see how I get on with those. I'm going to raid the shelves for something else as well, although given my remaining packing time it'll probably come down to lucky dip.
